Governor O'Malley and Senator Cardin Kick off Campaign 2010 with the District 20 Team
After marching in the Takoma Park Independence Day parade, US Senator Ben Cardin and Governor Martin O’Malley stopped by Heather’s home to endorse the District 20 team and help us kick-off the our campaign for re-election. State Senator Jamie Raskin, Chairman Sheila Hixson, and Delegate Tom Hucker all joined Heather in welcoming the post-parade crowd with popsicles and ice cream sandwiches.

Governor O’Malley made a compelling case for his record as Governor and for the District 20 team, with best-in-the-nation schools, strong environmental stewardship, nearly 200,000 newly insured Marylanders, and a commitment to building the Purple Line. According to the Governor, it's about who we are: "in Maryland, we move forward and not back," he said.
"I'm going to do everything I can to make sure our District 20 team is re-elected to the House of Delegates and State Senate," Senator Cardin added. "They're our leaders on education, on environment, and on good government...and your team is part of what makes this community so important and so special," he said.

The outpouring of support from the crowd was overwhelming. With luck and hard work, Senator Raskin, Delegate Hucker, Chairman Hixson and Heather will all return to Annapolis for another four years next January!
