Yesterday morning in Annapolis, I joined dozens of my colleagues to introduce marriage equality legislation. We have a fantastic opportunity to bring equal rights to the Free State this year, and I'm working as hard as I can to make it happen! Yesterday, with Heather Mizeur stickers in tow and my t-shirt on, I headed to the 1000 Women rally for Governor O’Malley, Lieutenant Governor Brown, and Senator Mikulski. Montgomery Blair High School - packed with elected officials, activists, and women in pink - had one thing to say: "What enthusiasm gap!??!?"

Earlier today, I had a great time participating in a "Poe-a-Thon" honoring American poet Edgar Allen Poe. The event was put on by South Silver Spring's Pyramid Atlantic Art Center as part of "The Big Read," a larger initiative by the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition to sharing the stage with Congressman Chris Van Hollen, it was great spending time with Pyramid Atlantic's Executive Director, my friend Jose Dominguez.
